JOB DESCRIPTION
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic Plumbing and Gas Tutor / Assessor within our Engineering & Construction Department to mentor, coach and assess with an emphasis on Gas Engineering Operative Apprenticeships.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out workplace visits to a caseload of learners providing teaching & learning, coaching, mentoring and assessment for successful completion of their chosen qualification.
The Work Based Tutor will work with the learner / employer and internal departments to ensure functional skills and all elements of the apprenticeship are completed to ensure timely success for the learner. The applicant will be responsible for the whole learner journey including advice and guidance, enrolment onto the correct programme of learning, delivery, employer liaison and EPA completion.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Hold the Assessors A1 Award (TDLB, D32/D33 or CAVA ) or full TAQA 301 Award.
- Be willing to work towards TAQA 401 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) award
- Hold a current certificate of gas safety competence that is not more than 5 years old (current ACS Certificates)
- Have occupational competence in Gas
- Training/Teaching/Basic Skills qualifications would be an advantage, although not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional outlook are essential.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required and undertake travel is also essential.
