Plumbing & Gas Tutor
JOB DESCRIPTION
You are more than an experienced plumber. You have first-class communication skills, excellent technical knowledge and a real passion for setting standards in everything that you do.
And that’s why you excel at training, developing and inspiring the next generation of plumbers.
Are you ready to take Birmingham we can promise you an environment that will support you every step of the way.
You will deliver all aspects and pathways of the PMES theoretical and practical syllabus for City & Guilds and EAL at both Level 2 and Level 3. In addition to providing high-quality teaching and learning, you will assess coursework, maintain attendance records and monitor individual progress to ensure the best possible outcome for apprentices. This will involve working closely with Training Officers and inspection bodies, and we will rely on you to look after the welfare and safety of apprentices too. Staying abreast of the latest development in the industry will also be a key part of your role.
Because it takes a great plumber to train a great plumber, you will need an Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing, a Plumbing NVQ3 or equivalent. Your proven experience in a mechanical services environment must be supported by a relevant gas qualification and a Certificate in Education or equivalent teaching qualification. A good understanding of Further Education would be a distinct advantage, as would an Assessor qualification (D32,33 and A1). And it goes without saying that you have excellent presentation, organisation and IT skills.
Does that sound like you? Then join us and we can promise you an attractive salary and benefits, ongoing development, and a genuinely supportive working environment.
We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment in conjunction with the requirements of Prevent Duty and the positive promotion of modern British values.

PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE
When uploading this post we noticed a distinct lack of what we would consider required qualifications. To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE. Similarly so, to be a FE practitioner, in other words, a Trainer, you should hold at a minimum the AET (Level 3 Award in Education and Training). The position does not ask for these so do not feel deterred to apply if you do not possess them. However, it is in our professional opinion you need to have either qualification before applying.
