Building Services End-Point Assessor
JOB DESCRIPTION
The employer is a Training Sector organisation in Leamington Spa who specialise in developing qualifications for the Construction and Civil Engineering sectors. They develop a range of industry qualifications including Apprenticeships, which are developed and assessed by sector specialists with real industry knowledge.
They currently have a fantastic opportunity an experienced Building Services Engineer or BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Controls Engineer to join their organisation as a Trainee End Point Assessor.
Building Services Engineering relates to the ‘Maintenance and repair of building services, such as: ventilation, heating, water supply.’
BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Control Engineering refers to ‘The control, performance and efficiency of energy usage in industrial, commercial and public buildings.
This isn’t a Teaching / Tutor role – is it assessing the competence of Building Services Engineer and Maintenance Apprentices at the end of their Apprenticeships.
Having experince with , and the knowledge to also assess BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Control Engineers is also highy desirable.
Any Building Services Engineering Installer (e.g. Heating and Cooling) and Ductwork Installer knowledge / experience would also be useful.
THE ROLE
The main duties of the job will involve:
1) The development of a range of Building Services Engineering related end point assessments, that relate to your area of expertise. You will be involved in developing the following material:
- Writing questions for Knowledge Tests
- Developing Professional Discussion/Interviews
- Designing Practical Specifications
- Preparing and maintaining official company documentation for these assessments
- A major part of the role is being able to independently research subjects and produce appropriate content for apprentices to be assessed on. In addition to development work, the job will entail some IT/administrative tasks to support the smooth running of assessments.
2)You will be trained by the organisation as an End Point Assessor, and will then travel across the country assessing Building Services Engineering and BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Controls Engineer apprentices on-site – performing End Point Assessments – so flexibility to travel is required (mileage / costs are paid)
ADDITIONAL INFO
- There will also be an option of further training to expand the number of standards (Construnction / Engineering subjects) that they you potentially assess.
- Opportunity to gain a level of professional recognition in your area of expertise e.g. Eng. Tech, I. Eng, C.Eng
- The nature of the job will also provide an opportunity to continuously maintain your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- The role will initally be office based (Leamington Spa) whilst you are training to become an End Point Assessor. After approx 6 months, this will then become mainly a home-based role with travel.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Applicants will ideally hold a relevant Building Services
- Engineering qualifications, have good IT and communication skills, and be interested in moving into the Education and Training side of the industry.
