JOB DESCRIPTION
This organisation has a new vacancy for a Trainer / Assessor for the Level 4 Learning and Skills Mentor Apprenticeship.
As a Trainer / Assessor, you will support learners to achieve their Level 4 Learning and Skills Mentor Apprenticeship by delivering training, reviewing and assessing their progress and ensuring they attend appropriate off-the-job training.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Work with learners and their employers to identify training needs
- Prepare, develop and deliver outstanding and innovative sessions either classroom-based or remotely using MS Teams where relevant to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners
- Design and deliver individual/group activities that motivate learners to aspire and achieve.
- Keep up to date with the roles and responsibilities of a mentor; identify opportunities for continual professional development
- Review and record learners’ progress in the workplace and off the job, discussing and setting targets with the learners and employers.
- Complete the necessary paperwork and keep accurate records of assessments, planning Internal Quality Assurance and other documentation required by awarding bodies.
- Work with learners in conjunction with the English, and Maths Trainers towards the achievement of Maths and English as required by the funding organisation and the Apprenticeship itself.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Recent and relevant experience in Mentoring and Staff Development/Team Leading
- A minimum of grade 4 Mathematics and English or Level 2 Functional Skills
- Own transport and a driving licence.
- Recent assessing/teaching experience
- An assessor award
- A Level 3 or above qualification in either Mentoring or Coaching
- A Management qualification
- A relevant teaching qualification

To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE. Similarly so, to be a FE practitioner, in other words, a Trainer, you should hold at a minimum the AET (Level 3 Award in Education and Training).
